I have used Screenflow for many years. I have worked on computers as a computer programer and in IT for years. I am also Microsoft certified. I have used Apple computers since the Apple II.
Screenflow has always been an excellent program for it’s quick simplistic functions. Hit [record] then hit [stop]…simple edits….save….done!!!!! Installation has always been with ease. This new version (5.0.2) has completely left a scar on the reputation of Screenflow. And that is a shame. First off….it cost $99.99 dollars. Now before you think that my complaint is the price, well you’d be wrong. But what would you do if you bought an electric guitar, took it home and it made no sounds? Bet you’d want your money back, am I right?!!
So I go to the App Store, pay the almost ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, and download the app onto my Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite with an Intel I7 Core. The app tells me I must now go to the website and download drivers if I want it to record the computers sound. I follow the directions and download the drivers and guess what….now my computer is doing a soft reset over and over. I remove all the ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR software and reinstall everything again. Nope…still doesn’t work. I can see Screenflow come up….and then it reboots. (makes the Mac feel like Windows). So I removed all the software and surprise, surprise my computer starts working again.
The other negative reviews are right……I love Screenflow but this version (5.0.2) is a downgraded piece of problems. Save your money until the real Superhero called “Screenflow" returns…..
