Good for simple tasks

This app does a nice job when it comes to screencasting. Basically, if all you need to do is record a simple session, then this app will work servicably. If you need to do anything more with it, you are in a world of hurt.

This app is riddled with bugs. By creating a dissolve between two clips, the visual indicators of your audio levels will disappear. Playback after awhile becomes choppy like you were watching a video over a bad internet connection. Animating via. actions is incredibly clunky and often times doesnt work. Lately, when exporting out, it will render large sections of black forcing me to re-render over and over again until it finally produces a watchable video. Theres nothing like exporting a video for an hour only to find it is unwatchable.

Thankfully, I bought this when it was on sale. As is, the program is a world of hurt. Im currently training up on Final Cut Pro so I wont have to touch this program again except to make simple screencasts. Final Cut Pro may be expensive relative to Screenflow, but Ill gladly pay extra for a video editor that actually works.
